JUST UPDATED 2024: JAPAN COMING SOON: New York City / Austin / Los Angeles / San Diego / San Antonio / Houston / Dallas / Shanghai / Singapore / Branson (Missouri) / Western Montana

Hi, welcome to the Bradley family Travel Blog! The point of the blog is to let our family and friends see what we are doing and if they ever go to these places they can choose what to see and what to avoid. We tend to lean toward the more active side - like "leave no stone unturned" so if you want to go at a more leisurely pace, you can just pick and choose. Choose a destination above, on the map, or in the groups on the right hand side of the page.

Happy travels, Phill, Shellie, Bix, Brooke

New Mexico - Day 5

Day 5

Today is our last day in ABQ.   After breakfast, we headed to the Albuquerque Biopark (Zoo) which was really, really good - I recommend it.  Unfortunately, a new penguin exhibit is under construction for 2018, but we got to see elephants, a new baby giraffe, gorillas, leopards, parrots, and really great amphibian and reptile exhibits.  The zoo features an outdoor amphitheater in the middle with a large grassy park, so there was plenty of shade and places to beat the heat.

After the zoo, we headed north to Old Town for a delicious lunch at the High Noon Restaurant and Saloon - which sounds like a dive, but had really good food in a nice atmosphere.

San Felipe de Neri Cathedral in Old Town
Amauta
After lunch we spent the afternoon wandering around the Old Town shops and viewing the San Felipe de Neri cathedral.

We also watched a concert by Amauta, an Ecudorian band.  They regularly play here and Shellie has a CD from a previous trip.  It is super relaxing music and I recommend looking for their CDs.  See this article for more information on this awesome band.
