JUST UPDATED 2024: JAPAN COMING SOON: New York City / Austin / Los Angeles / San Diego / San Antonio / Houston / Dallas / Shanghai / Singapore / Branson (Missouri) / Western Montana

Hi, welcome to the Bradley family Travel Blog! The point of the blog is to let our family and friends see what we are doing and if they ever go to these places they can choose what to see and what to avoid. We tend to lean toward the more active side - like "leave no stone unturned" so if you want to go at a more leisurely pace, you can just pick and choose. Choose a destination above, on the map, or in the groups on the right hand side of the page.

Happy travels, Phill, Shellie, Bix, Brooke

Dubrovnik, Croatia Day 5

Today we pulled into the beautiful seaside town of Dubrovnik, Croatia.  First thing we saw was a giant bridge near the anchor point, Port Gruz.

Originally, we were going to do a Dune Buggy ride in the mountains, but because of flooding that excursion was canceled, so we decided to go it on our own in the "Old Town".  We took a shuttle bus 15 minutes away to the walled city, a medieval fortress from before 1500.

Dubrovnik is more recently famed for being the setting of King's Landing in Game of Thrones.

The first thing we did was to change Euro in to Kuna so we could pay cash for different things at places that only took Kuna.  As soon as we went into the town walls we bought tickets to walk along the top of the wall around the city.  Lots of steps but not a long way around (maybe a mile).  From the top of the city walls you can see the ocean outside the city, the city with its orange tiled roofs, and the rest of the town outside the city walls:

Then we went into the town itself and ate lunch at Orlando.

The sandwiches we had were delicious and fresh with really great lettuce and tomato.

Here's our view from the sidewalk - you can see the marble streets.

We walked around and saw some interesting sights:

Then we bought some souvenirs and heeded back to the ship.

Next day is at sea, then we'll be in Turkey in two days.
